Red Flag Warning Feather Flags
Yuba Watershed Protection and Fire Safe council has purchased 15 feather flags to be displayed when NOAA has declared a Red Flag Warning due to dangerous fire conditions in our area.
We currently have 15 flags and plan to display them at our rural post offices, Cal Fire stations, Yuba River Ranger District office (see picture above), and other places of business as needed to get coverage throughout the five Fire Districts. The flags will be displayed during the Red Flag Warning period.
Want to know what a red flag warning is? NOAA explains that it means “warm temperatures, very low humidities, and stronger winds are expected to combine to produce an increased risk of fire danger.” Red Flag Warning (weather.gov)

Community Red Flag Warning Flags
The Dobbins-Oregon House Fire Department Cadets are taking responsibility for the red flag banners at the fire station and the Oregon House Post Office under the leadership of Cadet Wyatt Stensler. One of our fire department Cadets, Wyatt Stensler putting up the red flag warning banners at the thrift shop.
This project sponsored by the Yuba Fire Safe Council gives our cadets an opportunity to be directly involved with promoting community safety as they train to become firefighters.
Good work Cadet Stensler, our community thanks you and your team for your service.
